Aseya Bistro Orientale
Aseya, Asya, Asia. They all sound the same, and it speaks of the same restaurant. Aseya Bistro Orientale.
It was last week when the Davao Food Trip group visited Aseya Bistro Orientale. They accommodated ten bloggers for the 7th Leg of the Davao Food Trip.
Most of the food offerings in Aseya Bistro are of thai origin. As I remember, the first time that I tried thai food was during the times when Abe Orient (or was it Oriental?) in Duterte Street was still open. The latest was when I was in Malaysia.

The first dish served to us was the Aseya Salad. The salad boasts its peanut and hoisin dressing with sesame seeds. For 90 pesos per serving, it’s not bad at all. The Tofu with Chicken and Mushroom was also good.
The third dish served was the Tom Yum Kung. This is my third time to have a taste of this dish. The first was when our yearbook publisher served us this soup when we had dinner in his office. The second time was when I was in Malaysia and we ate in a Chinese restaurant. Yes, they served us with Tom Yum Kung. I often refer Tom Yum Kung as the Thai version of our local Sinigang. The difference between the two dishes is the spiciness of the former. I love this soup so much that I was able to finish 3 servings. Kuya Blogie almost freaked out when he saw me red-faced and thought that I had allergies.

Another type of dish served was called Kamameshi. Kamameshi literally means rice in a box according to Kuya Blogie. They served us with four varieties of Kamameshi but I was only able to try their Crab variety. One order of Kamameshi may serve 3 to 4 people for only Php 140.
The highlight of the dinner was the Sukiyaki. It’s a perfectly made Japanese dish. I highly recommend this dish. It’s very good. Did I just say it’s good? Yeah it’s good. YUMMMYY! A must have for everyone who wish to visit Aseya. One order is Php 180 and it’s good for 3 to 4 people.
