USEP: The CODEE Engineering Congress

The CODEE Engineering Congress is an annual event where students from different schools convene to showcase their school projects in an exhibit. This year, unfortunately, the event was held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP). The venue was not conducive for a 2-day-long exhibit considering the venue’s poor capacity to accommodate hundreds of students from the different universities and colleges in the region. Also, the venue’s poor ventilation and dusty atmosphere almost gave me a tonsillitis. And yeah, the tables used to hold our project were not big enough to accommodate some of our project paraphernalia.

We submitted two entries for the project exhibit. First is the Meteorological Data Acquisition for Disaster Prevention through GSM Technology and the other one is Electronic Braille Trainer. The former project used the SMS Gateway Project which I started a year ago.

Our project presentation was done on the first day. On the second day, we only displayed our project for a couple of hours and immediately left after lunch. We didn’t wait for the announcement and awarding of winners in the afternoon since we need to leave for our graduation practice. It was only in the evening when we received the news that our project won the 1st and 2nd places for the Commercial (Meteorological Data..) and the Para-Medical (Braille..) categories, respectively.

The evening was a bliss for us. Nine out of ten projects submitted by our school won in that competition. It was UNEXPECTED. We didn’t even bother asking for the results from those who stayed in the venue. It was a big ACHIEVEMENT for us. At least we know that we have contributed much to our school, even after the last week of our stay in the university.

No need to argue, just check the number of examinees and passers. As an Ateneo Engineering student, I have to admit USEP Engineering is good and they perform well in Board Exams. We have good percentage in Board Exams because of few number of examinees and the success of passing the exam.

nako po ano eto?

hanggang blog nagaaway parin ang ATenEo at USeP???

waaa

when I was in college ganon na parati na encounter kong problem the Engineering students tagisan sa talino between USeP and AtenEo

its really more in a student and school narin kaya naging top ang school na USeP kasi strict ang professors specially in Engineering Dept ang ECE sometimes are not taken only as 5 years may mga nag 6 years pa kasi binabagsak talaga High standard po talaga sa UsEp…

so what do you expect? syempre pasado sa board exam ^_^
