I've been to Cebu as well and my first Impression was... mao diay ni ang Cebu? Well, I may say, there's still no place like home like I have in Davao. There are funny situations as well, like when I say bulad for them it's buwad, sa dyip naman if you would say... pakiaabot lang if ihatag na nimo imo pamasahe, lingi ang tanan. with them it should be pakitunol nya. I'm not used of hearing iskina, so one time I asked the son of my boss, unsay iskina? ate... sa atoa sa davao kanto, diri sa cebu iskina, aw! mao ba.. hehehehe. Amping lang sa holdaper diha kay wala baya sila pili, anytime of the day naa lang na sila sa daplin daplin. unlike davao... you know what i mean panatag ka maskin asa ka adto. Amping sad if naa ka sa sulod sa bangko diha sa cebu... paborito diay nila bisitahon nga bangko para kawatan mao ang eastwest bank...well that's what I've observed during my stay there... 3 times gi bank robbery ang eastwet bank during my stay there and take note... same branch lang.

Boy Batangyagit: Firstly dong just so you know, i did not visit your site
just to check on things or your irresponsible posting in this so called little
boy batanginggit.com. I came to learn about your blog because the forum
where i use to visit was talking about you in a not so pleasant way. Yes you
and your comments about your ghastly, ill, ugly first week urban experience
about Cebu. May i ask just how old are you!? I assume your around 20-21 since
you recently graduated and came to Cebu to have your review here. Do you even
have the slightest idea as to what might have you created out of your iressponsible
remarks on certain topics where you think you know a lot of!? Are you so proud
now that somehow because maybe you never expected to create a furor out of this
plain blunt stupidity of unrealised posting of an article, that it helped increase
your blogs traffic!?

So okay, now lets discuss about the issues at hand. You mentioned about Cebu's water,
pollution, good food and even sunlight! Argh.. Oh dong, just when did sunlight
became a big deal for a young boy like you!? Ah sunlight.. for without it, everything
will die! News Flash: "According to this Iressponsible Blogger, cebu has lesser
sunlight!" Sos intawn dong, I too, haven't seen yet a puting uwak nga galangoy ngari.
WATER - Ok Sobra na gyud ni. You said and i quote: "Drinking from the faucet is suicide,
when you are in Cebu." Wa ka nalipong dong!? Kung galing ingana man, Patay na unta ko
ron just for drinking water! Wa na gyud kay lain ikasulti nga nindut about Cebu just
because you take a lot of pride in your hometown that its fun for you to diss out other
places where your a visitor, unfamiliar and new at!? Cebu's tap water is just as clean
or dirty as any other tap water in other cities here in the Philippines. All tap water
pass thru a process of water waste treatment plants then chlorinated to kill the germs.
But then again, all of the water we use in our daily lives it passes thru a network of
pipes before it can reach your home. So in a way your water believe it or not in
Davao, is just as unsafe to drink in contrast here. Only that in Cebu and Manila, water
is more chlorinated compared to other cities in the Philippines. So if you indeed
accidentally drank from the faucet and you get that eerie sense of taste of our water,
it is because of the chlorine amount in proportion of the amount of germs too kill. If
by chance somehow your stomach felt funny because you drank cebu's tap water, seek immediate
medical attention or you can do it by yourself.. Kill the germs in your stomach,
Drink ZONROX. By then we can really have real bad news courtesy of you. BANDERA:
"Babala: Ang tubig ng Cebu ay nakamamatay! Bata'ng Davao dedo! Dahil sa tubig."
Pun intended. You want me to reiterate again? I may do so to make you feel better dong.
O lagi, Water in Cebu is not that pure unlike in Davao "wherein water is as good as
purified water!" Purified tap water!? What a Laugh! This poor kids life doesnt even know
what he's talking about.

The other issue that Boy Batangyagit complained and which i want to reiterate is about
Cebu's clean air or the city's pollution "er, not so clean". Which is which boy, Clean air
or pollution!? Hey, make up your mind! Ok i'll do the honor to pick one for you. Since you
decided to blog concerning your dislikes and thou unpleasant and displeasing first impressions
about the Queen city of the south's rural environment; by all means, let's! Now tell me
dong, in the first place if you found cebu streets too polluted for your lungs why didn't you
just take the cab? So namahalan ra ka sa taxi mao you commuted via PUJ and you resented
because you found it unhealthy to breathe the air that "you had to cover your nose with your
handkerchief each time you go to the downtown area of the city." To tell you frankly, ikaw ra
ang pobre'ng blogger nga sobra ka arte nga naila nako. Ay gud pag inarte kay wa kay angay.
Assuming that you commute in your city thru cab and PUJ and you experienced your streets
more than any cebuano who visited Davao including me.. tell us, what is the difference
between Davao's motorized vehicle as compared to Cebu and Manila's!? Tell us dong. cos'
I really couldn't see the difference. How special is your vehicles and your city's taxi
(nga kasagaran wala'y AIRCON!) your city's ordinance and street laws that somehow you managed
to avoid seeing and smelling smoke from suppose to be smoke belching vehicles!? You know what,
either your too ignorant to understand or simply your just being yourself a crybaby who complains
a lot more than Paris Hilton. (Bdw, your Blog.. That's Hot!- NOT!) I still would like to feed your
feeble mind constrasting Cebu and Davao's urban community. Dong winston in case you forgot,
Davao's geolandscape is sprawling, flat and huge. There is a sizable amount of space for taxi's
and other vehicles to spew and belch smoke. Whilst in Cebu, the metropolis alone is totally cramped.
Too many vehicles on a certain street or avenue especially rush hours. The government here is im sure
doing all its efforts to act upon the downside of Cebu's fast growing economy and the influx of
migrants including visitors and tourists alike.

Again in reference from your blogpost, you expressed your strong repugnance and aversion regarding
the famed Colon street. Just who the hell you think who are for you to dub colon as the Skeriest
plaze on Earth huh!? Because in your shortsighted crookedness perspective point of view you saw colon
as a place full of decrepit old buildings, and now you have that right to blog about Colon with your
very unperceiving choice of words you designate the place as something very unwelcoming!? Dong FYI
lang, you are stepping on a street with 500 years of history in it! Wala pa gi nganli ang Pinas ilabi
na kanang Davao, Colon street already existed. FYI again, it is the oldest street in the Philippines.
You may probably ask yourself, "So What!? I really don't care about it's history lest give a damn
thing about Cebu because i am a proud Davaoeño!" Dong, just because you own a blog and your not from
this place doesn't give you the right and the authority to bash spiteful comments about this beautiful
island. Remember you only stayed here for a few weeks yet. SO before you give bad reviews about this city,
DISCOVER the cebu island first! And bdw, Excel Review Center is located in Manalili St. and not in
Colon St.

You also talk about good food and finding a reasonable restaurant to eat. How in the world would you
be able to familiarise yourself with places to eat near your place when giuna pa na nimo imong baba
diri sa blog before your legs!? The best way to familiarise places in an unfamiliar territory is to
walk around and familiarise. Was curious lang why you can't find any place to eat at Capitol Site nga
daghan mana diha. There is Joe's Inato GriLL at Fuente, Larsian at Chong Hua. You savvy for romantic
night dinner you eat at Holiday Plaza Rooftop. You fancy for an expensive chinese resto you eat at
CLUB ULTIMA top floor. You wanna pay 160 for a Buffet.. Eat at Family Choice or Joven's Grill. Assuming
you despise cebuano carenderia, pag Jollibee dong! There's a lot where near you live. But if your
too suspicious enough and may not want to risk your stomach eating cebuano cuisine, There are LBC
branches all over the city dong. I suggest you call your Dear Lola to cook for you and have it sent right
at your doorstep. Speaking of which, your emphasis on cebuano language. Unlike in many other areas in
the philippines and i would also like to put emphasis on Davao where Boy batangyagit said and i quote
"Unlike in Davao where people can easily use Tagalog/Filipino when conversing, the people in Cebu have
no appetite for the language" Dodong winston, haay dong here we go again... Cebuano's take a lot of
pride in their heritage, culture and especially their language! Can't you even notice it in classical
cebuano songs!? The likes of Max surban, Pilita Corales, Yoyoy villame and other countless cebuano
artists. Yes you are right cebuano's doesn't have the appettite to speak other local dialects, because
they take PRIDE on speaking Cebuano as their primary Language! Unlike other areas in the Philippines
and again i would like to reiterate and put emphasis on Davao kay gani taga Davao mani si Dong Winston,
cebuano's need not to BORROW and speak tagalog or other language just to make them look Hip and Cool!
Being just a Cebuano and speaking Cebuano is clearly enough for them to identify themselves.
CEBUANO is an IDENTITY. Like most Luzon and Manila people where they speak soft and malambing Tagalog,
so we term them as mga Tagalog. Same as the Waray's in East Visayas and the Ilonggo's in West Visayas.
You Winston, What would identify you besides being a Filipino living in Davao!? TAGLISH!? Spare me
your explanation dong.

Sos intawn dong, slowly i can clearly detect your sole intention to blog negatively about Cebu. Yes i agree
with the person who left a comment in your blog, I smell ENVY. For all intents and purposes, your intention
to induce dissatisfaction with your first impressions about cebu has so much to do with your great expectation
of your city. It has always been a human instinct and is the case for people who take so much PRIDE where years
of living has clouded their judgement and take one sided perception tackling mainstream negative issues on a
territory where the subect is new at. And never speaking of its brighter side because it would hurt the
subject's SELF-ESTEEM. Instead of mentioning the better side of Cebu, this boy's brain is telling him
to blog about what his sense's felt... but in a way which is lacking in constructive opinion and optimisim.
In short, A boy with a very negative viewpoint.

Alas, i would like to share to you my 8 year experience of living as a very welcomed visitor who studied and
worked here in cebu. In as much as i would like to share you, try discovering the beauty of Cebu especially
it's people. Not just the city but the Islands itself including camotes, sumilon, malapascua and bantayan.
You may have realize it to late, but you had already posted it in your Blog. Your comments, bad remarks
and negative perception and reviews about Cebu city was totally uncalled for. Sure enough, your cebuano
blogger friends had indeed got irked after reading your blogpost. The way it was written sounded very
unprofessional, envious and irresponsible. You hate to be dubbed as an irresponsible blogger don't you!?
Just because you own a blogsite doesn't necessarily give you all the license to write and post anything
under the sun! Know your Ethics dong.

If after 4 to 6 months you still didn't like Cebu after discovering it yourself, do us a favor will you?
Ikaw na gyud ang naay problema about ning lugara and not cebu.. go buy a plane ticket, go somewhere else
or return home. I'm sure happy ka sa imo hometown gyud. Anyhow.. WELCOME TO CEBU.

TIP: (If you unluckily got snatched, chances are the snatcher is from mindanao. First rule, Do not Resist.
Life is more precious than material things.)

Don't be O.A

too suspicious enough and may not want to risk your stomach eating cebuano cuisine, There are LBC
branches all over the city dong. I suggest you call your Dear Lola to cook for you and have it sent right
at your doorstep. Speaking of which, your emphasis on cebuano language. Unlike in many other areas in
the philippines and i would also like to put emphasis on Davao where Boy batangyagit said and i quote
“Unlike in Davao where people can easily use Tagalog/Filipino when conversing, the people in Cebu have
no appetite for the language” Dodong winston, haay dong here we go again… Cebuano’s take a lot of
pride in their heritage, culture and especially their language! Can’t you even notice it in classical
cebuano songs!? The likes of Max surban, Pilita Corales, Yoyoy villame and other countless cebuano
artists. Yes you are right cebuano’s doesn’t have the appettite to speak other local dialects, because
they take PRIDE on speaking Cebuano as their primary Language! Unlike other areas in the Philippines
and again i would like to reiterate and put emphasis on Davao kay gani taga Davao mani si Dong Winston,
cebuano’s need not to BORROW and speak tagalog or other language just to make them look Hip and Cool!
Being just a Cebuano and speaking Cebuano is clearly enough for them to identify themselves.
CEBUANO is an IDENTITY. Like most Luzon and Manila people where they speak soft and malambing Tagalog,
so we term them as mga Tagalog. Same as the Waray’s in East Visayas and the Ilonggo’s in West Visayas.

And never speaking of its brighter side because it would hurt the
subject’s SELF-ESTEEM. Instead of mentioning the better side of Cebu, this boy’s brain is telling him
to blog about what his sense’s felt… but in a way which is lacking in constructive opinion and optimisim.
In short, A boy with a very negative viewpoint.

Alas, i would like to share to you my 8 year experience of living as a very welcomed visitor who studied and
worked here in cebu. In as much as i would like to share you, try discovering the beauty of Cebu especially
it’s people.
You hate to be dubbed as an irresponsible blogger don’t you!?
Just because you own a blogsite doesn’t necessarily give you all the license to write and post anything
under the sun! Know your Ethics dong.

If after 4 to 6 months you still didn’t like Cebu after discovering it yourself, do us a favor will you?
Ikaw na gyud ang naay problema about ning lugara and not cebu.. go buy a plane ticket, go somewhere else
or return home. I’m sure happy ka sa imo hometown gyud. Anyhow.. WELCOME TO CEBU.

TIP: (If you unluckily got snatched, chances are the snatcher is from mindanao. First rule, Do not Resist.
Life is more precious than material things.)

Don’t be O.A

Among those things I miss about Davao are the numerous Inasal restaurants found in the downtown area. Mang Inasal, Penongs, and Banoks among others.

There's Mang Inasal in Cebu, located at SM Cebu. To get there, you have to ride 14D to Ayala Center Cebu then go to jeepney bay and ride 03Q (going to SM).
