Do you love the rain?

Emo-Rain

It’s rainy season again and typhoons are starting to build-up here in Luzon. One thing I miss about home is we don’t experience typhoons in Davao. Though it always rain down there, but we rarely get winds and rains as strong as those in Luzon and Visayas.  And most often, it rains at night. You’d be surprised to see the outside of your house wet the moment you wake up the next day.

Anyway, since it was raining these past few days, I’m wondering if you love the rain. I know several people who don’t. How about you, do you love the rain?

I used to love the rain when I was a kid.  When it rains, my brother and I used to sit near the window and watch the the outside of our house get wet. I also developed the liking for the scent of the earth when it gets wet. When nobody’s watching us, we usually go out and play in the rain. Also, my Lola used to cook champorado for us.

I also played with tadpoles. After a few days of continuous raining, the frogs usually spawn their tadpoles in the small pools of mud in our backyard. I once took the tadpoles out of the water and placed it in an aquarium. I thought I found black fishes in our backyard. I even asked my Lola to buy me some fish food for my new pet. Eventually, I realized that the tadpoles were not fishes. I ended up throwing the contents of the aquarium back to the pool of mud where I originally got them.

Btw, its only now at this errmm, mature age that I realized tadpoles look like the spermatozoa. You know with the head, body, and the flagella Wink

I love rain, It’s sound, smell and how it touches my skin. Countless that i play and enjoy the pouring rain even now. The choir frogs at night, raindrops that tried to count, and a smile that can’t be bought anywhere else is worthwhile when it rains. With a cup of coffee, a little conversation with friends, Perfect! But at the end of the day i wish to see a rainbow after the rain.
