It’s been a while since the last time I updated the features for my blog. I am jealous with Word Press’ related posts feature. I have been waiting for blogger to do the same. Though it can be done in blogger if you know how to program. But since i’m not good in programming XML calls and JSON, it’s better if I wait.
While I was blog hopping this morning, I came across this Hoctro’s Place wherein he published several hacks for blogger. The related posts interest me most. I have not explored his site yet. I concentrated on the related posts hack first.
So how does it work? The Related Posts Hack utilize the posted item’s Labels. These labels are used to make JSON calls for items with similar posts. So what the hack really do is list the recent posts containing the same label as the opened item. If a post contains several labels, then the hack lists the related items for each of the labels. The hack is easy to install but make sure you make a back-up of your template.
