i have been using this tool for several years already since its beta :P.

if you are software developer in .NET, LiveWriter with CopyCodeAsHtml plugin in VS2005 works best that any other code syntax formating tool.

btw, you may try using Windows Live Mail with gmail.com POP3 connection. Its nice doing things not in browser way.
