Zip Line and Photography at Camp Sabros
Aside from shopping and wrapping gifts, do you know of any good activity to do during the holidays? I know one. Yesterday, my photography hobbyist friends and I went to Camp Sabros in Kapatagan, Digos, Davao del Sur. We figured out that the place can make a good spot to take pictures since it’s situated at the foot of the country’s highest peak, the Mt. Apo. Aside from being a good spot for photography, Camp Sabros also has the country’s longest zip line. For a few hundreds, you’ll get to try their 400-meter zip course which crosses the pine forest on the foot of Mt. Apo.

I was able to take about a hundred photos yesterday. Since I don’t own a DSLR, I borrowed my friend’s Nikon D60 with its 55-200mm lense which comes really handy when taking photos from afar. I’m planning to publish few of these photos on my Digital Puto later after I’m done editing my shots. For now, you may take a preview of my shots on my gallery (Camp Sabros photos). It was a great chance to get some photography into the day, and I enjoyed the images I came away with – it’s always good to catch up with one of your main passions at life, whether it’s a bit of Cheeky Bingo before work, or borrowing a friend’s camera to explore the local area through a lens.

How to get to Camp Sabros?

The country’s longest Zip course
From Davao City, take a bus to Digos City from the Ecoland Bus Terminal. It will take about an hour from Davao to Digos. After arriving in Digos, take the tricycle going to the Van terminal. Take the van bounded to Kapatagan. Just tell the driver you’re going to Camp Sabros. From the highway, you need to treck the 1-km path going to Camp Sabros or if you’re lucky enough, there are some 4×4 vehicles waiting at the foot of the hill which will effortly take you to Camp Sabros.
