The North Face 100 and the run this morning

Running under the 5k division during the Unilab run
I tried sleeping early but insomnia hit me again or was it the Nexus One that kept me awake ’til 3 a.m. I’m supposed to wake up at 4 in the morning to catch my 5 am run. I only had an hour of sleep but that didn’t keep me from missing this morning’s 5K run for the Globe’s Run for Home at the Ayala Triangle, a few minute walk from my condo. My race time didn’t get better but I think I performed better in the race this morning as compared to the race I had two weeks ago. First, I didn’t enjoy the race last week as much as I did this morning. Second, the race this morning is not as stressful as the previous one. I have learned from my previous runs that I should not exert much effort at the beginning to save some of my stamina for the rest of the race.
After doing this morning’s race, I thought to myself that I should attend more race events. It’s fun, healthy and tiring FUN!
If only I can endure The North Face 100 marathon, I would be happy to join. But since I can’t (yet), I would like to invite those who can to participate in the TNF 100, Asia’s first trail running ultra marathon in Baguio-Benguet. The race will traverse through the unexplored trails of Camp John Hay, PMA grounds, Mt. Sto. Tomas and Tuba and will end in Burnham Park. This first of its kind trail running event will be on April 24-25, 2010 and will feature 11K, 22k, 50K and 100K solo running divisions. Experienced trail runners, mountain climbers and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to take part in this event. Please watch their video presentation here.

But since this race is way way way way beyond my capacity, I might opt for the Greenfields race instead. ![]()
