Everyone needs a dentist

If I remember correctly, the only motivation I had in going to the the dentist when I was a kid is the cup of ice cream my dentist gives me to relieve the gum wound every time she pulls out a baby tooth. Since I only have a limited set of baby teeth that needs to be removed, the last dental memory of my childhood ended when I had my last baby tooth removed. That was when I was in grade school.

Since no one really pushed me to see a dentist after grade school, I didn’t bother seeing one. Besides, I didn’t have any serious teeth problems and ice cream can no longer be used to bribe me. The only time I had to see a dentist was during my first year in college. I probably have paid my university thousands of pesos for the school’s dental service which I was never able to use. Hahaha!

Anyway, even though I was not a big fan of dentists, I tried my best to religiously brush and floss my teeth (though there are instances I feel lazy that I forget to brush — gross!). But despite all the brushing efforts, there will always come a time that a dentist’s help is necessary.

A couple of weeks ago, I met Kuya Pete and he invited me to visit and try the services of K Dental Studio. The studio is owned and being run by Doc Karla Domingo. She finished her degree in Dentistry here in the country and went abroad to pursue her post-grad studies. After finishing her studies in the US, she went back to the Philippines to start a unique type of dental clinic, hence, the K Dental Studio.

I was in awe when I first saw the “studio”. Doc Karla designed the “studio” in such a way that it breaks the tense feeling you get whenever you visit a doctor or a dentist. You wouldn’t even know that it’s a clinic if you had not known that it is.

Contrary to other dental clinics which that only offer services at the time you need them, Doc Karla personally designs a specific roadmap of dental services that fit her client’s need and lifestyle. During our first meeting, she asked us several questions about our lifestyle and checked our teeth before she gave us her recommendation.

I started my first official dental session with Doc Karla yesterday and I’m quite satisfied with the results. I’ll be going back soon for another treatment and maybe later than soon for yet another different session. Lucky me, her clinic is just a tricycle (how classy!) away from work.

You may visit Doc Karla’s K Dental Studio at Suite 1409 Medical Plaza-Ortigas, #25 San Miguel Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. You may reach them at 02.622.7113 or +63917 555 0641. Like the K Dental Studio page on Facebook.
