Fly and Sail Day 2 – Flying the Singapore Flyer
The second day of Airphil Express’ Fly and Sail AdvenTour Package mostly took place in Singapore. After having our breakfast at Fragrance Hotel, we started packing up and waited for the coach that will take us to our next destination, the Singapore Flyer. The coach service / transfer service from the Fragrance Hotel to the Singapore Flyer is included when you avail of the Fly and Sail AdvenTour Package from Airphil Express.
I have been a couple of times to Singapore but I never really had the interest or the chance of riding the Singapore Flyer. I have asked my friends about it but I often get the “it’s just a giant wheel” remark. To date, the Singapore Flyer is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. It’s as high as a 42-storey building. It’s located near Marina Bay Sands.
I would have wanted to live blog about my experience on board the Singapore Flyer but my StarHub line had failed me. Anyway, I have tried my best to recall every detail that I had in mind while I was on board the Flyer.
A whole trip on the Singapore Flyer usually takes 30~40 minutes. The ride will take you 165 meters above sea level where you could get a 360 degree view of Singapore. The Marina Bay Sands, the Botanical Gardens which is still under construction and some of the famous land marks in Singapore are visible from the flyer. We were impressed at how the flyer’s capsules were designed to seamlessly balance the floor in itself. We barely noticed that we were moving.
After the 40~minute ride, we went to a hawker center just within the confines of the buildings of Singapore Flyer and had our lunch. I bought bakuh-teh, a spicy Malaysian pork stew, as suggested by Hannah. After lunch, we headed to Vivo City in Harbour Front where we will board the Super Star Virgo.
This is Day 2 of our four day Fly and Sail Adventour Trip by Airphil Express.
