Mandaue Business Month Press Conference

I mentioned in an earlier post that I got invited by Mr. Wilson Ng to attend the Mandaue Business Month press conference. The invitation was also open to other 15 bloggers but only a few responded because of some conflicts in schedule. Among those who attended the press conference are Aileen (http://sunchoke.net), Wil (http://misswilhelmina.com), Paul (http://cebudirectories.com), Nick (http://in-indie.org), Arnold (http://cebuheritage.com), and Rio (http://ngkhai.net/blog).
Present during the press conference are the people from the business sector, the media, and Hon. Gwen Garcia, the governor of the province of Cebu. The purpose of that press conference is to formally launch the upcoming 17th Visayas Business Area Business Conference and the Mandaue Business Month.

The first week in Cebu City was very difficult on my part. I’m not used of eating carenderia food. While I was in Davao, I was spoiled with my Lola’s home-cooked meals and food from Davao’s best restaurants. I was not prepared in the sudden change of my lifestyle.
Among those things I miss about Davao are the numerous Inasal restaurants found in the downtown area. Mang Inasal, Penongs, and Banoks among others. Last night, we were able to come across Cebu’s barbeque haven. We didn’t realize that such place lies a few blocks away from our building.

Going to the bundoks of Calinan

Yesterday, we, together with my colleagues in Kalasag, went to Calinan District to attend Kuya Ayan’s thanksgiving lunch for passing the November 2007 Electronics Engineering Licensure Examination of the PRC.
Calinan is just one of the few rural districts in Davao City. It’s located at the northern part of city. It’s about an hour ride from the metro. We took the bus in going to Kuya Ayan’s place.
We arrived at our destination just in time for lunch. After having lunch, we went to the hills. It’s a few minute walk from their house. The climb up the hill reminded me of our climb in one of the hills in Camiguin during our trip there last summer.
After climbing hills, we went back downtown since we were running out of time for an engagement we are attending.
We arrived downtown around 6p.m and we’re already an hour late for our 5p.m. appointment, which is Nemia’s debut.
