The Google Nexus One Package

After waiting for more than two weeks, the Google Nexus One I ordered finally arrived. I purchased the Nexus One phone from Google last February 25. I was expecting it to arrive in a week after the phone was received in Kuya Jay’s mailbox in California. Apparently, due to the delay in the courier service going to Manila, the phone which was expected to arrive in a week, arrived in Makati last Friday (March 12). After receiving a message from Kuya Jay, I immediately rushed to the courier’s office to pick up my phone (which, by the way, is only a couple of blocks away from where I work).

Here are some of the un-boxing photos. :shy:

One advantage of getting the Google Nexus One directly from Google (http://www.google.com/phone/) is that you have the option to  have your name, URL, quote, motto or any text you like to be engraved/printed at the back of your phone. Here’s mine:

Here’s my blog viewed on my Nexus One.

Another thing I like about this phone, aside from the superb integration between my phone and my online Google services, is that it lets me compose blog entries using the WordPress Android application. Here’s an example of blogging using Nexus One. I wasn’t able to make thorough testing of my new phone since I was away to Nagsasa Cove last weekend.

I’m happy with my new phone. Keeping myself from buying an iPhone paid off after I got the Nexus One. This is yet another gadget I bought from my blogging earnings.

It was just a coincidence that I was wearing my white Google shirt on that day.

P.S. Thanks to Kuya Jay for patiently helping me get my NX1.

Winston, how’s the mobile provider comaptaibility? wala bang problems? I mean, no need for any tinkering para gumana yung local sims natin for the Nexus One?

    • Winston says:

Local SIM works fine. I’m using Smart Prepaid on my nexus one and so far I’m not having major problems except for the lack of 3G connectivity in my office. It works fine for both 3G and 2G modes. :) For 3G connectivity, there’s still a need for a little tweaking since Smart and Globe currently have no OTA settings for Google Nexus One. :)

Woot! This is a great phone. Question, is it compatible with our local carriers?

    • Winston says:

Yeah it is. It’s a quadband phone so it prolly works on all types of cellular networks across the globe. I havent tried mms though since smart doesn’t have config N1 yet.
