Mandaue Business Month Press Conference
I mentioned in an earlier post that I got invited by Mr. Wilson Ng to attend the Mandaue Business Month press conference. The invitation was also open to other 15 bloggers but only a few responded because of some conflicts in schedule. Among those who attended the press conference are Aileen (http://sunchoke.net), Wil (http://misswilhelmina.com), Paul (http://cebudirectories.com), Nick (http://in-indie.org), Arnold (http://cebuheritage.com), and Rio (http://ngkhai.net/blog).
Present during the press conference are the people from the business sector, the media, and Hon. Gwen Garcia, the governor of the province of Cebu. The purpose of that press conference is to formally launch the upcoming 17th Visayas Business Area Business Conference and the Mandaue Business Month.
We are very honored that our group was invited in that press conference. It only means that the other sectors of the society are starting to recognize the capacity of bloggers to promote the province’s business and toursim industries.
Also, it was in the press conference that they officially launched the activities of the Mandanaue Chamber of Commerce and Industries for the Mandaue Business Month. Most of the activities which involves bloggers are intended in helping in the promotion of the Province’s top destinations, products and other great things about Cebu.

Sugbu Kini: Photo and Video Tagging Contest
There are a lot of great photos and videos about Cebu in the internet but they remained hidden because they are not properly indexed by search engines. The goal of this competition is to unveil all these images from the depths of the world wide web through tagging and labeling. Also, it encourages people to upload such photos and videos so it can be shared among the users of the internet. More details of this competition can be found here.
Discover Cebu Writing Contest
The aim of this contest is to showcase the things Cebu has to offer through writing/blogging. A contestant may write about a certain product, town, people, culture or a destination. The contestant should use his/her first hand information, whether through interviews or experiences, about his/her chosen topic. More information can be found at the contest page.
Geek Jam and LAN Party
The LAN party is a venue for computer enthusiasts to showcase their hardware, software, innovations, and other techie stuffs with other computer enthusiasts. This event will be housed at CICC and it is expected to be the biggest LAN party to happen in the history of Cebu. Bloggers are also invited on the said event. We can share tips, plugins and showcase our blogs as well. There will also be competitions for the different computer games.
