My Amazing Google Experience in Panglao, Bohol
A couple of weeks ago, my friends and I had a few days vacation at Panglao, Bohol. The resort where we stayed was very remote that we have to walk a kilometer or more to get to the nearest convenience store.
During our last day in Panglao, our food, water and cellphone load supplies need to be replenished. Since everything sold within the resort are extremely expensive, we decided to look for a nearby convenience store. We went to Rona’s, a convenience store a kilometer away from our resort. I was wearing my white Google shirt when we left.
After we bought all the stuff we need from the convenience store, I decided to look for some place where I could reload some cellphone credits. I was lucky that there was a nearby reloading station just across Rona’s convenience store. In front of the relading station are motorcycle drivers waiting for some passengers.
When I passed by the drivers, I heard one of them say “Bay, website iyang t-shirt o” (Man, he has a website shirt).
Upon hearing his words, I could’t help myself but to smile. I never expected that someone from that kind of environment would recognize Google, not from a place where internet access is scarce and internet education is not a trend.

Gusto ko rin niyan.
Panglao’s great! The kindness of the people too is a big plus in going to Bohol!
Actually, the lesson should be: Don’t judge the tricycle driver because he is not a book.
batangyagit, laagan na kaayo ka maski asa naka nakaabot… hehehe
nice naman. =) katuwa.
Well, Bohol is starting to become a known topic especially if the subject is about vacation spots or tourist locations. So the locals are also becoming more familiarized with whats’ going on the outside world. Soon, you will find more places in Bohol to hook up gadget if you need to have access to the internet.
this is good………. kudos

i have to agree with len..after reading your blog i did feel that somehow you discriminated the local folks of Panglao by undermining them.
and to dorkface..that’s from watching to much gore films..
I am a Cebuano myself and live in the far mountains of Busay. If this is what Batang Yagit thinks then so be it. Maybe it is because he just unaware of the developments of Bohol.
You guys are also judging Batang Yagit immediately. Rather than just curse around there, why don’t you present to him and proove it that Bohol is not such.
You guys seem too defensive. When you’re defensive, it means that there is some truth to the statement.
Are you guys not glad that now Batang yagit has now realized through the driver that even in areas where internet Access is scarce, the Filipino still embraces the power of the internet?
