Finally bought the new toy
I’ve been planning of getting a Digital SLR since last year. It was only a couple of months ago when I started saving some money for a new camera. I really wanted to get a mid-range camera. There are a lot of decent cameras available in the market today, yet, it was the Nikon’s mid-range DSLR, after consulting my friends who are into photography, who caught my attention. It was only yesterday when I completed my target amount. After converting the money to cash this afternoon, I decided to go to Quiapo to get my new DSLR. Meet my new toy, the Nikon D90.
I bought this afternoon the Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) (with 2 years official warranty) from Hidalgo, Quiapo. I didn’t get the gray unit (brand new unit without warranty) since I fear that I might break the unit within the warranty period. Due to budget constraints, I was only able to get a body and a lens. My budget that time was not enough to pay for the entire kit. Instead, I bought an AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens from Nikon. The lens is perfect for portrait and food photography. Here are some photos I took using the Nikon D90 and the 35mm f/1.8G lens: Another significant feature of Nikon D90 (and most Nikon DSLRs today) is its back-compatibility with older Nikon lenses. The photo below is a 28-80mm lens from the 1998 Nikon F60 SLR (film) kit. The old F60 kit lens still functions properly with the Nikon D90 including its Auto-focus functionality. I’m excited in taking more pictures. Expect that my photo blog will be updated more frequently in the coming days. Also, I’m starting to save money for my camera bag (I didn’t get my free camera bag ), filter sets, zoom lens and other accessories.
