Mandaue Business Month Press Conference

I mentioned in an earlier post that I got invited by Mr. Wilson Ng to attend the Mandaue Business Month press conference. The invitation was also open to other 15 bloggers but only a few responded because of some conflicts in schedule. Among those who attended the press conference are Aileen (http://sunchoke.net), Wil (http://misswilhelmina.com), Paul (http://cebudirectories.com), Nick (http://in-indie.org), Arnold (http://cebuheritage.com), and Rio (http://ngkhai.net/blog).
Present during the press conference are the people from the business sector, the media, and Hon. Gwen Garcia, the governor of the province of Cebu. The purpose of that press conference is to formally launch the upcoming 17th Visayas Business Area Business Conference and the Mandaue Business Month.

The first week in Cebu City was very difficult on my part. I’m not used of eating carenderia food. While I was in Davao, I was spoiled with my Lola’s home-cooked meals and food from Davao’s best restaurants. I was not prepared in the sudden change of my lifestyle.
Among those things I miss about Davao are the numerous Inasal restaurants found in the downtown area. Mang Inasal, Penongs, and Banoks among others. Last night, we were able to come across Cebu’s barbeque haven. We didn’t realize that such place lies a few blocks away from our building.

Kakaiba ang ginawang activity ng The Usual Suspects kagabi. Pagkatapos ng food trip namin sa Honey Bear, dumeretso ang grupo sa perya malapit sa NCCC Mall.

Ang entrance ng perya
Sumakay kami sa Terror Train, as what Kuya Blogie calls it. Naging exciting yung ride hindi dahil sa laki, elevation or slope ng rails, kung hindi dahil sa mga sound effects nito. Wala ring kahit anong railings yung mini-coaster na yun. Nagiging exciting yung ride kapag naririnig mo yung tunog ng bakal na para bang guguho anytime yung rails ng coaster. Si Ate Ria nga eh naka pikit ang mata the whole duration ng ride, habang si Gwing tumitili at si Kuya Drew naman tumatawa ng malakas.

Aside sa nakakatakot na coaster, sinubukan din namin ang horror train. Amf. Cost cutting ang management ng perya. Iisang tao lang yung nakita kong nananakot sa loob. Hindi man lang kumuha ng assistant. Sa halip na matakot kami, tumawa na lang kami ng tumawa.
[photopress:davao_carnival_14.jpg,thumb,alignleft]Natrick rin kami na pumasok sa booth ng babaeng walang ulo. Dahil curious kami kung paano nila itatago ang ulo ng babae, pumasok kami sa booth nila. Nakahiga ang babae dun sa isang ataol-like box na blue. Nakatago yung ulo niya sa ilalim ng isa pang compartment ng box. At para matrick ang mga tao, at para rin makahinga ang babae, ginawan nila ng triangular salamin ang box para itago ang head ng babae. Added attraction din sa booth na yun ang mapanghing amoy na hindi namin alam kung saan nanggaling.
After ng gig sa perya, dumaan muna ang grupo sa Fwendz Diner bago dumeretso sa Kopi Roti.

Wow…perya! I used to go peryas, too, when I was still in marbel ‘pag Hinugyaw Festival or T’nalak Festival. That’s a staple na cguro tlga sa pinoy festivals.
