The Xcelerator — Asia’s best Zipline

The guys from Avatar started the year with an adventure. Last January 3, together with Kuya Blogie, Ate Ria and Kuya Drew, went out to see (and try) the Xcelerator.
I have tried Camp Sabros’s Zip Line weeks ago when we went their with my shutter friends. I thought at first that it’s the country’s longest but not until Ate Ria told me about the Xcelerator.
Blogie, Andrew, Ria and Winston — waiting for their turn.
The Xcelerator is the longest, tallest, and fastest Zip Line in Asia. The zip line is estimated to be around one kilometer in length. It’s more than twice the 400-meter line of Camp Sabros. The Xcelerator is operated and managed by Outland Adventure. It’s located at Carlos P. Garcia Highway (Diversion Road), Ma-a, Davao City.
The ride costs only 300 pesos. It includes the equipments, a raft ride across the lake, and a guided hike to the peak of the hill where the zip line’s launch point is.
My first experience at Outland Adventure when I was still in high school. We zipped and rafted across the lake.

Our photo before crossing the lake, notice that Ate Ria’s wearing slippers for a long hike.
I had much fun during crossing the lake. It was the second time I cross that same lake, only we were using a bigger raft this time. We were to stand on top of the raft while we pull our way across the lake. After the short raft ride across the lake, we started hiking towards the peak of the hill where we will set off for the zip ride. It took me and Ate Ria some time to treck the track towards the peak. Ate Ria was wearing slippers and I have a weak resistance when it comes to strenuous activities. Upon arriving at the peak, we waited for about an hour for the group ahead of us to finish zipping.
The launch point of the Zip Line
When it was our turn, Ate Ria decided to back out. She freaked out when she was asked to get off and sit on the edge of the ramp. Hehehe. She walked her way back to the camp. I was envious of her since she got to try the raft twice that day.
Well, for us three, we were able to Zip our way back to the camp. The 1-km zip course only lasts less than a minute but it was worth it. I can feel my legs shaking while I was midway through the line. It’s twice more exciting than the zip line in Camp Sabros (though Camp Sabros got a better view). It was an adrenaline pumping experience.
Zipping at the Xcelerator is a must for those adventurers who want to visit Davao City. The Xcelerator is open on weekends from 8am to 5pm. You can call their downtown office at 224-5855 for inquiries.
UPDATE
How to Get to the Xcelerator
Outland Adventure is located at President Carlos P. Garcia Highway (Diversion Road), Ma-a, Davao City. It’s across the Gap Farm.
If you’re taking a private car from the dowtown of Davao City, take the Matina Highway (MacArthur Highway) and turn right to Ma-a Road (NCCC Mall). Go straight until you reach the Diversion Road (C.P. Garcia Highway) at the end of the Ma-a Road. Turn left and go straight until you see the Outland Adventure or Gap Farm sign.
When taking a cab from downtown area, just tell the driver you’re headed for Gap Farm in Diversion Road, Ma-a. Outland Adventure is just 20 meters across Gap Farm.
If you want to take public transport, take the Ma-a jeepney from downtown. Take off at the Phoenix Gasoline Station and take a tricycle to Outland Adventure.
For more inquiries on how to get to Outland Adventure, call their downtown office at (82) 224-5855.

Too bad and VERY VERY bad that they open on weekends lang! Kainis kasi I will be in Davao on weekdays lang!
Anyhow I will try to call them and find out if they will open this March during weekdays (crossing my fingers)
Please email me naman the directions going to Outland coming from Davao City.
Many thanks.
