Yagit is now an Engineer
The longest week of my life happened last week. It was Saturday and Sunday when we took our licensure examination for ECE at South Western University in Cebu. All of the things I studied in the past 5 years of my life were compressed into two days of four-subject examination. I can say that the exam is very unfair. I know I know a lot things but the examination does not cover it all. (darn those examiners)
Waiting for the result of the exam is even worse than taking the exam itself. As we near the release date, most of us are becoming anxious. Tension is starting to build up. Most of us are nervous. Everytime a cellphone rings, our hearts start to panic. The days after the board exam were hell for us.
(***insert annoyed icon here**** someone downstairs is selling pineapple and he pronounces pinya as pinnneeeeaaa)
Anyway, we all thought that the result will be released on Tuesday so I scheduled my flight to Manila the day after. But we waited ’til 2am, yet, no result came. I flew to Manila, away from my classmates, which made me forget about the exam result that we’ve been waiting. It was about 12 midnight when I was about to sleep, still not caring about the exam result, when I saw a missed call from my two cellphones. The first one (on my N82) was from classmate’s landline number in Davao, who recently passed the Electrical Engineering board examination, and the other one is from Opep, one of my classmates left in Cebu. I immediately texted Opep and asked if the results are out. He responded with a call and announced that I passed.
I immediately screamed YESSS!!! But the feeling is contrary to what I’ve been expecting. Our teachers were telling us that passing the board exam was one of the happiest moment of their lives. I didn’t feel the same. The only feeling I could remember was the feeling of relief. I was relieved from my anxiety and tension. But don’t get me wrong, I’m still glad I passed the Electronics Engineering Board Exam. I still feel pround that I’m one of those few who survived the 5-month review and 2-day exam.
*whew*

That’s my name. See for yourself.
“What are you going to do now that you passed the Exam”, a friend in Davao asked me on IM.
Well….uhmmm…I’m currently staying in the capital right now, and most probably be in the next two years (except for short vacations). I got accepted in a Japanese Company in Makati and I will be reviewing again for PhilNITS in the next 5 months. Walang katapusang pag-aaral. ![]()
